Rising travel and accommodation costs has resulted in an increase in the number of cyclists. Many students / workers commute to work using a bicycle, but have limited space when it comes to storing their bike. My objective was to design a n indoor bike storage rack that saves floor space. Public bike storage can be insecure and is limited in some areas of cities, such as London.
The manufacture of the bike rack was very simple once the design had been finalised. I cnc cut all the peices using 3mm ply and assembled the rack using flatpack connector bolts. I had to ensure that the user could easily understand the assembly process allowing the product to be sold in flat pack form.
